Additionally there were the three crucial ball losses, and the pair from Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins converted to seven points just later

It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defense and Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - rather than the calm, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this year

The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on if this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are quietly moving into a nice lead at the summit of the American Football Conference East

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three different eight and two teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the top team?

You can pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts actually for feasting on the weaker opponents, with only five of their combined twenty-four wins coming against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Indianapolis defeating the Broncos

Traveling to the Ravens is challenging too, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Chargers (who could also challenge for first place but face the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the fixture list

The Indianapolis also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There's a considerable distance to travel but the opportunity is open for a surprise top seed in the AFC

Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Clash

Both squads with solid claims to be better than all of the three different 8-2 teams are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who each scored forty points to reach 7-2 ahead of the upcoming major game between the two in Los Angeles

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a game

Both could realistically be without a loss as well - particularly the Rams as their two defeats occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play blocked and run back by the Eagles for a touchdown

The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely among the best sides in the NFL

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the season to date
