Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

A family member advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
