The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Dies in an LA Vehicle Accident

Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in California aged 55.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The renowned industry figure died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a highway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.

"This is a devastating loss, and we stand with his family and friends, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
